Make a world of difference in the conservation of tropical rain forests

• Maternity leave replacement (6 months, with possible extension for up to 12 months)
• Sydney location

We are seeking a skilled manager to coordinate the Australian component of the Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN) initiative and to encourage major users of forest products to purchase sustainable timber and paper from certified forests. The role promotes the uptake of sustainably sourced palm oil, policy reforms and consumer outreach to support WWF’s global network efforts to transform markets and production methods for key tropical forest products.


With a track record in delivering conservation driven sustainability initiatives and programs the successful candidate requires:

• High level communication and influencing skills and experience working with networks, business and industry, government and the community to engage diverse interests towards GFTN and WWF sustainable objectives and outcomes
• Sound knowledge of corporate social responsibility and sustainability policies
• Understanding of and experience with marketing, media and public relations mechanisms
• High level coordination and management skills including working to timelines and budget
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills at the strategic level

A good understanding of forest management issues and experience with multi-stakeholder processes will be highly regarded.
