The Crown Estate’s role as guardian of large parts of the British landscape means that our commitment to this country’s marine, natural and urban heritage is unrivalled.

Round 3 is the largest renewable energy programme in Europe and has the aim to develop 25 GW of offshore wind by 2020. The Crown Estate is co-investing with developers, combining the technical experience of the offshore wind industry with our access to resources and stakeholders. The Crown Estate is also involved in new energy technologies including CO² storage and marine renewable energy.

We’re looking for an energy policy specialist to provide us with commercial advice on trends in the UK and international energy markets, identify their potential impact on our business and then develop strategies to both manage risks and to accelerate revenue generation across our portfolio. In addition to keeping relevant staff fully briefed on energy policy issues and trends, your work will ensure that we’re seen as UK thought leaders on low carbon energy related policy and trends and you will deliver responses to Government and European Commission consultations on low carbon energy matters.

Your significant expertise in energy economics and knowledge of UK, EU and international energy policy and trends will have given you the ability to help influence important commercial decisions. Your communication skills will allow you to work at a senior level in an influencing capacity as you will engage in technical interactions with the Board of The Crown Estate and senior government representatives. You must have the creativity and initiative necessary to influence and build rapport with relevant parties in a commercial setting.
