3-year fixed term University Grade 7 (£29,972 - £35,788 p.a.)

 

The Institute for Climate and Atmospheric Science (ICAS) is one of the leading UK institutions for research on weather and climate, and contributes substantially to the School of Earth and Environment's teaching programmes in atmospheric and environmental science on the BSc, Masters and PhD level. It is a vigorous department, which aims to achieve the highest standards in its teaching and research.

 

You will have a PhD in some field of atmospheric science and a proven ability to conduct original research in this area. Your duties will include delivering lecture courses in meteorology and atmospheric dynamics using theoretical, modelling and field-course approaches, and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. You are expected to develop your own independent research programme in the area of regional high-impact weather and climate complementary to existing activities of ICAS and to publish your research in high quality peer reviewed journals.
