This role is open for a full time or a fixed term position.

You will work with other parts of the project team including engineering, construction, commercial, HSQE and O&M representatives to ensure interfaces are clearly defined and delivered and effective communication is maintained throughout the project.

  • Coordination of technical queries during the manufacturing and construction phases
  • Ensuring that the wind turbine supplier complies with the requirements stipulated in the contract
  • Monitoring and reporting on project construction works, including wind turbine pre-assembly, commissioning and testing activities
  • Completion of site inspections to monitor and record progress and quality against contractual requirements
  • Ensuring that health, safety and environmental site rules and best practice are observed
  • Tracking of the assessment and rectification of defects during the construction phase of projects and the subsequent contract warranty periods
  • Regular reporting to the wider project team on the progress of wind turbine supply, commissioning and testing activities
  • Compilation of as-built documentation for inclusion in project health and safety files

Additionally, you will be expected to have role in:

  • Provision of support to operational projects, including completion of site inspections

The Person:

This role would suit a candidate with knowledge and experience in wind turbine erection, commissioning and testing activities.  A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent, knowledge of the offshore wind industry and offshore construction experience are not essential but would be strongly advantageous. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that he/she has the following capabilities:

  • The skills required to evaluate potentially complex machinery, equipment, programming and logistics
  • The ability to both work independently when on site and as a member of a team and to react positively to the varying challenges of construction projects and site work
  • Excellent communication skills including report writing, presentation and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors and consultants
  • The ability to manage own workload and meet demanding timescales on a number of potentially simultaneous projects
  • Willingness to travel within UK and Europe, as well as work offshore and at heights

Please note, there two positions available in this role - one is permanent, one if 12 month fixed term contract. Please ensure you state this on your application.
