carbonjobs is currently assisting an award winning engineering and environmental services consultancy recruit a highly experienced Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) specialist for their Western Australian operations.

This group has an established, global network of ESIA specialists provides services to the mining, oil and gas, infrastructure and urban development sectors throughout Australia Pacific, Asia, the Americas, Europe and Africa. As demand grows, there is a significant importance on continuing to build its ESIA team and is looking to recruit additional local resources capable of making a significant contribution to the team.

Position Description:

- Conducting and managing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for major resource and infrastructure developments
- Providing high level technical environmental advice and regulatory liaison on a broad spectrum of issues within mining and industrial projects
- Manage significant complex projects and be able to review complex technical environmental reports
- Prepare and coordinate the production of high quality reports
- Develop and maintain a broad client base and actively pursue new business opportunities
- Influence, mentor and coach junior and intermediate staff with respect to their career path and professional development
- Display leadership in technical elements of a project and management of project teams

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

- A relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a mining or consulting environmental role
- Strong knowledge of the WA approvals process and legislation
- Specialist environmental experience in Environmental and Social Impact Assessments
- Experience in working with multidisciplinary environmental and engineering teams
- Certified qualifications (CPEng or CEnvP) are highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Client management and business development skills
- Proven success in managing and participating in multidisciplinary projects
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
