Research Scientist : ‘PAGODA’ Project National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS), Climate Directorate Department of Meteorology / University of Reading Salary range: Grade 6 (£27,428 to £29,972) Full time, fixed term until 10 January 2014 Closing Date: 17/07/2011 Job Reference: RS11019
We are seeking to appoint someone to carry out scientific research directed at improving our understanding of how climate change affects the global hydrological cycle. The position is funded by the PAGODA project through the Natural Environment Research Council Changing Water Cycle research programme. You will have: · good first degree in a numerate science subject · a PhD in Physical sciences · proven understanding of statistics and ability to analyse numerical data · experience of presenting scientific results to a range of audiences · excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills · a general knowledge and interest in climate change and variability Experience of working with scientific data in government or industry and/or manipulating large datasets would be an advantage
