Description

An exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Dorset’s low carbon economy.

We are looking for two talented individuals to join our expanding technical delivery team for the Low Carbon Dorset programme, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and hosted by Dorset Council’s Sustainability Team.

Since 2018, Low Carbon Dorset has been helping organisations in Dorset install energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies by providing free technical advice and low carbon grants. Due to its initial success, Dorset Council has now secured an additional £5million to extend and expand the programme.

What you will be doing

Your role will be to provide technical support and guidance to the business, community and public sectors in Dorset to encourage the delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

You will be responsible for liaising with clients, undertaking on-site visits, estimating costs and associated savings, writing reports, and supporting clients to develop their low-carbon projects and apply for grant funding.

About you

You will have a proven track record of advising and delivering technical renewable and energy efficiency projects. Good project management, communication, partnership working skills, and adaptability will also be essential.

Working at Dorset Council

This is a unique opportunity to join a brand new council in Dorset – home to the spectacular Jurassic Coast and thriving market towns and villages with a strong sense of community and identity.

On 1 April 2019, five district and borough councils and the county council were replaced by the new Dorset Council which will deliver more efficient, accessible and modern public services.

You will have the opportunity to build your career in a modern, flexible and inclusive organisation, and this is an exciting time to join – at the start of our journey together.
